About Our Convivium
Slow Food Vancouver is part of the Slow Food International Movement, an association of over 80,000 members in over 100 countries.
We are a member driven organization. We organize events that fit our mandate and work locally to achieve our Mission.
Our signature events are the Slow Food Summer Cycle Tours. We can do more with your volunteer assistance to organize events, tastings and workshops.
In 2010, as we are raising funds to send our local farmers to Terra Madre in October, we need your volunteer help.
Volunteer opportunities include:
• Cycle Tours: develop the promotion materials; work on sponsorship; liaise with the local organizing committee, project management.
• Tastings: Events this year include a Coffee Tasting; Cheesemaking; and Red Fife Wheat baking.
• Terra Madre Food Community Events: Themes include First Nations and Wild Crops.
Support our local food supply. Protect our farmers. Get involved. Contact your local government to keep food growing on our Agricultural Land Reserve.
