2008 Agassiz Cycle Tour
August 9th, 2008
A Slow Cycle Event
Follow the Circle Farm Tour on our 2nd Annual Slow Food Agassiz Cycle Tour. In 2007, almost 400 cyclists participated in a day of slow....cycling along country roads, visiting the farmers and learning more about where our food comes from and its’ production.
This culinary adventure allows participants to cycle around to various farms and sample a taste of country life through rural cuisine and interactions with farmers. The self-guided tour begins at the Fall Fair Grounds in Agassiz where participants receive a map they can follow to the various farm locations. There are ten stops on the route and ample varieties of local cuisine to experience, taste, and learn about. Participants are able to take the tour as fast or as slow as they would like.
This cycle tour designed to be available to all participants, as the designated route which is approximately 30km around, is 95% on flat ground. Although, there is a more challenging route that cyclists may wish to take along HWY 7, to the Kilby Heritage Site (a 26 km round trip), but it is recommended that only cyclists with a lot of experience consider this optional route.
