Cook the Hood
April 18
For some people the question is “what to eat?” while for others the question is “where will my next meal come from?”
Wendy Walsh will be at Britannia Community Centre selling Cook the Hood Commercial Drive 2009 .
Proceeds from the sales are donated to Quest Outreach Society, rescuing food and redirecting it to those in need.
Focusing on neighbourhoods renowned for their foodie environment with a segment of their population in need of food assistance, Cook the Hood is a not-for profit organization that:
• Promotes local businesses and celebrates neighbourhood spirit.
• Provides a mechanism to support local programs providing food assistance to those in need and strives to improve awareness of food security issues.
A Cookbook with a Difference….
Contributed by socially-conscious local businesses with some of the close-guarded cooking secrets of the area’s best eateries, the wide selection of fabulous recipes truly capture the vibe of a diverse neighbourhood.
The book also highlights the work being done to improve awareness of the food security issues facing all of us in today’s society and aims to provide a motivation to get more involved.
