Poultry in Motion Educational Mini Barn
April 18
Poultry in Motion Educational Mini Barn is a new display that is designed to educate the public on how farmers in the Fraser Valley raise chickens. It is an exact replica of the chicken barns seen throughout the Fraser Valley, complete with real live chickens taken from these barns.
Poultry in Motion shows the different stages of chicken production, right from the large chickens and roosters that lay the eggs through to the baby chicks and to the full-grown broilers that are ready for market.
You can see the baby chicks and how they are kept warm, and see how chickens are comfortably housed, with bedding on the floor and their water and feed supplied to them. Through this display you can get to know the life of a chicken.
Art Penner, a chicken farmer for more than twenty years, is on hand to explain the display and answer your questions. So if you have questions on the chicken lifestyle or the strict biosecurity measures that our poultry farmers now use or any other topic that is of interest, come and see the display and talk to him.
