The Spelt Bakery / Aran Foods Inc.,  had it’s origins at the East Vancouver Farmer’s Market in the summer of 1998. This was when people first started asking, “How’s that Spelt?”.

In December of 1998 we opened a retail bakery on Nanaimo Street in Vancouver. Less than two years later we moved to the Commercial Drive neighbourhhood. Ten years later, the business has grow considerably.  Janet met her new business partner, Christine, and together they propelled the bakery to the next level.  We have moved to a bigger, better and much brighter location.

We now have t-shirts, hats and bumper stickers with the logo  “How’s that Spelt?” The Spelt Bakery products are available in many stores, restaurants, and cafes in Vancouver.   All products are  made with 100% organic spelt flour.
