Summer Cycle Tour Chilliwack

“I am proud to say that Chilliwack farmers produce some of the best tasting food in the world. But don’t just take my word for it; come see for yourself and join us on the Chilliwack 2010 Slow Food Cycle tour. Once you have a taste, I am sure you’ll be just as proud too!”   Mayor Sharon Gaetz

Following up on a most successful 1st Cycle Tour in Chilliwack, Slow Food Vancouver is hosting the 2nd Tour.  In 2009, almost 700 slow cyclists, mostly from Vancouver, cycled the 25 km self-guided bicycle route while visiting farmers and producers in the Greendale area of Chilliwack.

2010 will feature new stops including the Six Masters with their squab and Garden Back to Eden with heirloom tomatoes.

Stay the weekend and participate in the Agassiz Cycle Tour on Saturday.  Chilliwack has many accommodation offerings.  Click on the Where to Stay Chilliwack  Or, stay with our sponsor, the Coast Chilliwack Hotel.

Tour Date:  August 22, 2010 (rain or shine!)

Times:  9am – 4pm (arrive and leave at your leisure!)

Price:  Online registration for adults is $10/slow food cycle event either Chilliwack or Agassiz or $15/both Agassiz and Chilliwack (includes event brochure with a map and some tastings along the way).  NOTE:  Children 12 and under are FREE for the ride, however, must pay for food and options along the way.  There is no refund for the cycle tours.

A shopping shuttle provided by Chilliwack Tourism will be collecting your purchases from the farms and bringing them back to the registration area for you to pick up.

Along the route, you will see Caliber tractors providing safety at key intersections and also more visible route directions.
