Anita’s Organic Grain and Flour Mill

August 22, 2010

The freshest grain & flour for the best tasting healthy kitchen!

Taste, smell, and feel the premium artisan quality in our wide variety of unique, fresh, stone-ground whole-grain flours, all-purpose flours, ancient grains, cereals, and mixes. We use low milling temperatures to maximize nutrition and taste, and test each product thoroughly in our kitchen to ensure the best results in yours.  We will offer milling demos with manual and electric home milling equipment, and will be serving tasty samples throughout the day.  Unfortunately, no tours of the mill are available, purely in adherance with our strict inspections and health & safety regulations.

Be well - growing a family business
After 15 years in business, Anita sold her mill to a young, local family, John and Dani MacKenzie. Since 2005, John and Dani have nurtured business growth based on their commitment to a simple, healthy life: family, employees, community, environment, and the tradition of pure, wholesome organic goods. Their approach is best summarized in two words: be well.

Premium Canadian quality
Anita’s Organic is committed to the highest artisan-quality Certified Organic and Kosher grains, fresh whole-grain stone-ground and all-purpose flours, ancient grains, cereals, and mixes. That means delicious nutrition without synthetic chemicals and pesticides.

Organic farmers’ best
Anita’s Organic works closely with the best organic farmers in British Columbia and the Canadian prairie provinces, and offers premium prices for the highest #1 graded quality Certified Organic grains cleaned to 99.9 per cent.  From sourcing grains solely from farms using sustainable, organic agricultural practices to packaging with eco-friendly materials, caring for the environment is a top priority at Anita’s Organic.

Traditional milling meets technology
Stone milling is a traditional method that is gentle and slow, and creates creamy, flavourful, whole-grain flours. Combined with our continued investment in new technology, for better flour handling and minimal waste, we provide an efficient and reliable supply to our customers, plus a clean and dust-free workplace for our employees. All goods are thoroughly tested in our kitchen for the best results in yours.

The market at the mill
We welcome you to visit Anita’s Organic Retail Market at the family-owned mill to learn more about fresh stone-ground whole-grain and all-purpose flours, ground from an expansive array of Certified Organic and Kosher specialty grains.  Nestled between picturesque farmland and the stunning Chilliwack Mountain, we provide only premium Certified Organic baking ingredients for novice and skilled artisan bakers and chefs, as well as those with specific dietary requirements. Our test kitchen is constantly developing delicious new products and healthy baking mixes to accompany the superb selection of culinary elements that will enhance your cooking and enrich your meals.  Tempt your taste buds and please your palate!  Whether you are shopping for the perfect legume, an ideal flaked grain, the freshest flour, an impeccable Multi-grain Pancake & Waffle Mix, or best tasting whole grain, you are sure to find it and so much more at Anita’s Organic Grain & Flour Mill.
