Coffee Cupping for Slow Food Members only 2pm- 3pm Saturday June 5
Coffee Tasting on Saturday, June 5th from 3-4:30pm at Latin Organics on 1326 East Hastings St. (next to the Gourmet Warehouse). Participants include Latin Organics, Salt Spring Coffee Company, and Café etico. All participants will be demonstrating a selection of their coffee and will explain how their coffee is making a difference in terms of being good, clean and fair, and what it means to be ‘certified organic’ and ‘certified fair trade’. There will be an opportunity to purchase a small selection of coffee from each company. Pre-Event: A special opportunity for Slow Food Members ONLY! A chance to experience ‘Coffee Cupping’ with Banks Thomas from Salt Spring Coffee. This is a pre-tasting event from 2pm to 3pm at Latin Organics. Coffee aficionados will learn the cupping process involved and why it is so important for evaluating, observing and tasting.
