UBC Farm Fundraiser with Brian Brett
July 7, 2010
Wednesday, July 7 at 6:00 p.m., award winning author Brian Brett will be at Barbara-Jo’s Books to Cooks for a UBC Farm Fundraiser. Brian shares his stories and tales of rural life in his book, Trauma Farm: A Rebel History or Rural Life. Trauma Farm provides an unforgettable portrait of one farm and a common-sense analysis of rural life. It is an irreverent and illuminating journey through a day in the life of the affectionately named Trauma Farm with numerous side trips into the natural history of farming.
At this evening’s reception, Brian reads from his book and connects us with UBC Farm, our own snapshot of rural life. Brian will offer his insight and thoughts on challenges and opportunities for UBC Farm while Mark Bomford of UBC Farm will also be on hand to update us on new developments. Guests will enjoy local wine and a delectable selection of fresh hors d’oeuvres featuring the early summer bounty of UBC Farm.
Tickets are $75.00 and include a signed copy of Trauma Farm. Proceeds of all ticket sales will be donated to UBC Farm.
