We are pleased to welcome Chef Mara Jernigan from Vancouver Island this evening. An accomplished Chef, Mara opened her own Field to Table cooking school, farmed, and ran a Culinary Retreat and Guesthouse at Fairburn Farm. She has been featured in publications such as Gourmet, Saveur and Travel & Leisure. She founded Vancouver Island’s Feast of Fields in 1998 and has worked since 2001 with Slow Food and currently serves as the Slow Food Canada president.
· Crostini with Saltspring Island truffled goat cheese
· Salad of Miner’s Lettuce with wild oyster mushrooms, B.C. spot shrimp, and a Venturi Schulze balsamic and nodding onion vinaigrette
· Hand made red fife wheat cavatelli with nettles and Moonstuck white grace cheese
· Boneless Cowichan Bay farm chicken leg with bacon and Jerusalem artichokes
· Rhubarb semi freddo with Saskatoon berry syrup
