Red Fife Wheat Flour by Donation

June 1, 2010

Proceeds to send our local food representatives to Terra Madre 2010

Available in 2.5kg packages and 20kg sacks. Flour and berries by donation to support local farmers attending Terra Madre 2010. Email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)to arrange pick up dates.

This flour was available at the Terra Madre Day Event, December 10th.  The wheat was grown by Holly Peterson in Saskatchewan and milled by John at Anita’s Organic Flour Mill in Chilliwack.  The flour and milling were donated to Slow Food for this project.

Let us know of your experience baking with the flour and share your recipes with us.  We will post them on our site. I’ve baked my oatcakes using the flour and the results are fabulous. My banana bread is very moist and my cousin says that her biscuits and brownie are her best ever.  In general with this flour, I use the amount of liquid called for and in some cases may reduce the amount.
