The Caveman Cookout
August 6, 2011
Chef Robin, of Swallow Tail Supper Club, is fiercely local, does culinary mushroom hunts, wine tours, crabbing, snowshoe feasts in the forest, and runs a secret supper club out of her basement.
This August, she will be hosting a Heritage Pig Roast called The Caveman Cookout. We’re excited about what our friends at Swallow Tail are up to and if you like pasture raised meat, we think you’ll be in for a treat.
There’s a special bonus for Slow Food members as well!
Here are the details:
- Heritage Breed Pig from Sloping Hill Farm in Qualicum Beach - fantastic pigs and the epitome of Slow Food. They were voted Producer of the Year 2010 by Vancouver Magazine.
- R&B Brewing is doing 2 exclusive craft beers using Chef foraged ingredients (Chantrelle Mushroom Ale is one idea, Wild Berry/Rhubarb Sour Ale is another)
- local, seasonal & Chef foraged side dishes
- the dinner has a caveman theme to it. The food will all be matching the diet of our Palaeolithic Ancestors (basically, no grains)
- there will be an optional caveman style workout
