Friday, May 7 marked the opening night of the DOXA Documentary Film Festival. A sold-out crowd attended Terra Madre, a beautifully filmed documentary about the 2008 Slow Food conference that took place in Turin, Italy

The DOXA opening party, also sold out, followed the showing of Terra Madre. The party was hosted at the Harrison Gallery which provided a warm interior space for the animated crowd. Food and beverages were generously provided by the following establishments:

Some of the proceeds from both the film and opening night party will be donated to the Vancouver Slow Food Terra Madre Fund, which aims to send a contingent of representatives from our local food communities.
